Mixed Media, Other Media, and Fiber Art Show
Let’s celebrate the creative process!
Artists working in Mixed Media and Fiber Art use a combination of techniques and materials and often find themselves fielding lots of questions. These categories are broad and combine a wide variety of skilled techniques.
All formats of mixed media, other media, and fiber art will be considered, including wall hung, free-standing, or pedestal mounted. You may enter up to four wall hung pieces, and four free-standing or pedestal mounted pieces. Work must be ready for installation including display hardware, rods, stands instructions and image to assist with display.
We want each artist to think of this show as an opportunity to showcase their process and perhaps give more of an in-depth perspective as to the ‘why’ behind their art. Anyone can submit their work.
We encourage you to attend the reception, meet the creators and fiber enthusiasts, and talk about the methods used to make these one-of-a-kind works.
Please email an updated bio and artist statement and the story of your piece/technique.

WHAT SHOULD YOU ENTER?
- Mixed Media is unconventional media that combines techniques and materials and can be anything that is used in an unusual way to create a unique object. It includes 3D art, digitally created art, collages, mosaics, assemblages, found objects, printmaking, etc. Digitally Created Art must be wholly created using digital tools, including AI apps. If the work contains a photograph, the photograph must be a minor part of the work unless it is extremely heavily collaged or manipulated sufficiently to be a new image. Any artwork created wholly or partially using AI tools will be considered digitally created.
- Other Media includes Beads, Ceramics, Furniture, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Pottery, Sculpture, Stone, and Wood.
- Fiber Art includes works in weaving, needlework, basketry, quilting, soft sculpture, beading, paper, cut paper, paper constructions, knitting, crocheting, felting and all other works primarily constructed of fiber, as well as pieces made of non-fibrous materials, but utilizing techniques normally used in the construction of fiber art. Artists who work in any craft media are invited to consider making artwork with a fiber sensibility.
- Fiber and textile techniques may be thought of as an idea as well as a media. This would include woven glass or clay, wood and metal as well as works in more traditional fiber. Wearable art is also eligible for entry. All fiber arts enthusiasts—quilters, sewers, knitters, felters, embroiderers, weavers, spinners—are welcome.
