The Sidney Museum and Arts Association, a nonprofit organization founded in 1970, is dedicated to preserving local history and promoting local and regional artists and appreciation of fine arts.  We are member driven and 100% volunteer.

The Sidney Museum and Arts Association established and maintains the Sidney Art Gallery, the Sidney Museum and the Log Cabin Museum in Port Orchard, WA.

The Sidney Art Gallery, Sidney Museum and Log Cabin Museum are currently open by appointment as we ramp up our volunteers to be open regularly.

There is no charge, but donations are gladly accepted to help offset the cost of maintenance.

Sidney Art Gallery

Located a block up the hill from downtown Port Orchard and the marina, the Sidney Art Gallery is a terrific place to find artistic treasures by renowned and emerging artists. The Sidney Art Gallery features a monthly exhibition of works of Northwest artists, from brilliant stained glass to nostalgic watercolors. Creative gifts are offered for all occasions: original paintings, prints, pottery, sculptures, wood carvings, metal and iron work, blown glass and jewelry.

The Sidney Art Gallery and the Sidney Museum are generally open on Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm, or Monday and Tuesday from 11 am to 4 pm but we are happy to make an appointment during the week. Book an appointment here for days during the week.

Fiber Show

September features fiber art and is an exciting and eclectic exhibition. Reception is Saturday, September 16, from 1 pm to 4 pm

Upcoming Exhibition

Upcoming in October is the annual South Kitsap Artists member exhibition.

 

 

Classes

Take a look at the upcoming classes! Watercolor workshop with Roy Lowry October 14, 10 am to 4:00 pm – subject Evening Seagull flight. $100 class/material fee.

 

Sidney Art Gallery & Museum Building

The Sidney Museum

The Sidney Museum is located on the second floor of the Sidney Gallery building. Built in 1908, it was the first Masonic Temple building in Port Orchard. The Sidney Museum features historic photographs of Port Orchard through the ages and includes a general store, school, doctor’s office and hardware store.

Log Cabin Museum

Just up the hill, the Log Cabin Museum, built in 1914, features changing exhibits of home life in South Kitsap during the past 100 years as well as items typically used and tells the ongoing story of the resident mannequin family, the Orchards. Log Cabin is open Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm May to September and by appointment.
