Log Cabin Home
The Log Cabin Museum
The museum features changing exhibits of home life in South Kitsap during the past 100 years as well as items typically used and tells the ongoing story of the Orchards. In the current exhibit Emelia and the daughter are examining the new electric tredle sewing machine, while Lewis is consulting in the kitchen with one of the Grumble Brothers over making a still. Grandmother Orchard is upstairs having her hair done. Soon, the Orchard family will be getting ready for Christmas in 1914 and the children are looking forward to a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Again this year, the Sidney Museum and Arts Association is hosting Pictures with Santa on Saturday and sunday, December 6 and 7, 13 and 14 from 11:00 am to 3 pm. Bring your camera, children, pets, family and friends. We will provide Santa, the christmas tree and candy canes.
Contact the Log Cabin Museum for more information. There is no charge, but donations are gladly accepted to help offset the cost of maintenance.
