Marti Green was born to her passion for nature and painting. She exhibits an innate ability to express the diversity found in nature and it's ever-changing moods through her use of color and with a simplicity of style. Her personal vitality for life and the emotions she feels are all expressed through her paintings, most of which are from places she has visited and sketched while on site. Following high school, Marti has attended both Olympic College in Bremerton and Evergreen State College in Olympia. Her advanced studies placed an emphasis on business, advertising and commercial art. She continues to study at every opportunity, ensuring that she masters the techniques that most appropriately convey the atmosphere and emotions she strives to express through her paintings.
Marti is a current member of both the Peninsula and Kitsap Art Leagues and has been asked to demonstrate her styles to other artists from both organizations. As head screener for the Peninsula Art League, she reviews and approves member artists wishing to exhibit in member shows. She has also been selected to judge art exhibits at county fairs and for local art league competitive shows.
She has won numerous awards for her paintings and has paintings displayed in private collections across the United States and Europe. Marti is a lifelong resident of the Puget Sound region and currently resides in Port Orchard with her husband Steve. She creates her art in a studio located in her home and conducts her business locally under the name Watermark Studios and Fine Art Printing.
